Weigh In - Weeks 4 and 5

Ugh.... this is so discouraging... but I need to post it to hold myself accountable.

I GAINED the past TWO weeks. .2 last week and .8 this week.

But this is exactly why I need to be on weight watchers - see I started running again, and I am working out more than ever, and that is usually when I gain weight (that and the holidays), because I am so hungry! I also think I am struggling because I am at home a lot of the day and I don't realize how much I snack. I also have something going on in my personal life that is really upsetting me and I think I am "emotionally eating." I'm trying to channel my emotions into running, but I still need to stop. and. think. before mindlessly snacking or eating. (Sigh).

But regardless of why, I need to be more conscious of what I'm eating (addressing why I am eating) and do a better job of tracking.

I just got a new phone today, so I am trying to use the weight watchers mobile app to diligently track... hopefully I'll have better news next week.

If you fail, try, try, again. Try, try again.

  1. Don't be too hard on yourself lovely lady!!
Getting back into the swing of things is always hard - and when there is stress involved, it's just THAT much more difficult. Hang in there!!

What kind of phone did you get?

I hope that whatever is going on in your personal life gets better soon.
    Thinking of you!

  2. After having to keep track of my calorie intake to increase my milk supply for Connor, I used the Lose It! App through iTunes on my iPod. It is free and is great to use. Keep up the hard work and know that by exercising and watching what you eat is a healthy decision and the number on the scale isn't of the utmost importance.

  3. Awww that's rough! And I'm so sorry to hear you are having a tough time in your personal life, too... I am totally an emotional eater so I can really empathize with that desire to "feed your feelings."

Hang in there! You will get back on track!

  4. I can relate in the fact that for two weeks in a row I gained. Then I lost last week, and I'm afraid this week I'm going to gain. PMS has me all types of out-of-it. I feel disgusting, and instead of getting off my butt and doing something, I pout about my allergies attacking my life and go to bed....at 9pm. awesome.
I hope things are getting better! I think the phone app will help - something new and exciting always helps getting me motivated and back on track!

  5. WW works if you stick to it. The only reason it didn't work for me is because I didn't stick to it for long enough. But for the 2 months I did do it, I lost 10 lbs. Not much but heck, I felt different. You can see on the charts people make for themselves -- some weeks, it's fascinating because they do actually gain weight. Maybe you're gaining muscle? Also it could be random fluctuations. Point is sometimes you gain a bit before you lose a lot.

    Do you go to meetings?
